About Paragon Computers

Paragon Computers is located in Gunnison, Colorado. Gunnison is smack-dab in the heart of Colorado. Being in the middle of the Rocky Mountains is truly beautiful. Outdoor adventures abound in the form of down-hill and cross-country skiing, rafting, ice-skating, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, camping and more.

People here love new adventures, learning, and small town living. They do not always love their computers, which is where we come in. Paragon means "a model of excellence". Our mission is for our customers to be able to use their computers to the best of their abilities and needs. This means different things for different people. For some, it just means to keep the darn thing running. For others, it means keeping up-to-date and efficient in software programs such as E-mail, word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, and more. What does it mean to you or your business?

Dave and Alysia Pearcy are the owners of Paragon Computers. They both graduated from Gunnison High School and attended Western State College of Colorado. Alysia has a B.A. in Commercial Design from Western. After working in the "real world" for a few years, Dave and Alysia decided to go back to school. They chose Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater, Texas. Dave earned a degree with honors in Computer Maintenance Technology and Alysia earned a degree with honors in Information Management Technology (Networking and Applications). While at TSTC, Dave was active in SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers). Alysia acted as President of TSTC's Data Processing Management Association Student Chapter. While at TSTC, Alysia became interested in computer training when she was an instructor for a summer Computer Kids Camp for 8-12 year olds.

After TSTC, Dave was hired by Intel Corporation in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was a rewarding experience to work for the world's leading semi-conductor company.

Alysia worked for an educational computer reseller. She configured large networks, worked in educational sales, and began teaching teachers how to use software.

Alysia went on to contract with a software company out of Canada, AutoSkill International. AutoSkill flew Alysia all over the US to train teachers to use AutoSkill's Academy of Reading. Some of her accounts were in Washington, DC, Phoenix, Albuquerque, and Houston.

Dave and Alysia decided to move home to Gunnison and open a computer store where the employees are friendly, customers become friends, and they can really make a difference.
